RALEIGH, N.C. -- The push for a two-year moratorium on executions could take a major step forward Tuesday.

Darryl Hunt was sentenced to life in prison for a crime he did not commit. A House judiciary committee is set to consider the idea Tuesday morning. If the bill passes the committee, the full House could consider it Tuesday afternoon.

But a vote will not come without reviving an on-going debate. And Darryl Hunt and Alan Gell, two individuals who have been wrongly convicted, will be in attendance in the hopes of making their voices heard.

"You can't just sit there or stand there and tell me there are not problems, because I'm walking, living proof there's a problem," said Gell, one of several people released from prison after new evidence proved his innocence.
