More Debate from Connecticut
First, a letter to the Editor from Jim Stuhler.
Michael Ross is a trap to activate the death penalty. We must not fall for it. Michael Ross wants death. We'd be giving him an easy, predictable way out. Rather, he should serve life imprisonment. We should demand and hope he repents for his crimes and makes atonement collectively to us.
Secondly, a poll conducted by Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. Although 70% believe that Michael Ross should be executed for his crimes and 59% "favour the death penalty for persons convicted of murder" the following polling result is what I find most interesting:
Connecticut adults are somewhat divided on how to deal with people convicted of murder. 37 per cent of respondents say death is a suitable punishment, while 49 per cent suggest life imprisonment without parole.
