NY State Assembly Death Penalty Hearings Report
Yesterday, The New York State Asembly released a report detailing five full days of public hearings featuring 170 witnesses. The report is a "glaring indictment of capital punishment in our state, and makes clear that New York must leave this broken law off the books for good".
The bill will go to the Codes Committee which is expected to vote this coming Tuesday, April 12th. Though many believe this vote will be in favor of not resuscitating the death penalty, the opposition is pushing for the bill to go to the full floor as well.
