Trial for Texas Man in Human Smuggling Case Begins
Last December there was a Deadline post about Tyrone Williams and the smuggling case in Houston.
From the NY TIMES:
Williams is accused of driving and abandoning the big rig and could face the death penalty if convicted for his role in the deaths of 19 of the immigrants in the May 2003 smuggling attempt, the deadliest in the nation. He is being tried on 58 counts of harboring and transporting illegal immigrants.
The trial has started and you can listen to a short radio segment about it on All Things Considered.
