Mitch Daniels (R) is the new Governor-elect. While he has moral reservations, he believes that a death sentence is appropriate for the most extreme crimes where guilt is clear.

There are currently 27 prisoners on Death Row in Indiana. Of the 27 Death Row prisoners, 8 are black and 19 are white.
